Gurney Street, Stonehaven

Dunnottar Park Architects
A simple but fun project in the conservation area of Stonehaven, where an existing conservatory is to be replaced with a new sunroom / extension. The existing kitchen will be expanded and made more contemporary through the removal of a lobby space and differences in level between the different spaces made level.
The extension itself features a natural stone wall separated by a glazed clerestory and flanking walls, as well as a biparting / sliding door system opening onto low level decking and the garden beyond. The roof and extended concealed gutter are formed with a standing seam Zinc roof, with the overhang covering the external opening biparting doors.
The Project was for a Planning Application and Building Warrant gaining full approvals by April 2023 and on site by October / November 2023 with completion due in the early part of 2024.
